Alliance History

Founded in 1971, Alliance Steel, Inc. has grown to be a premier manufacturer of metal buildings and related components. The current management team has been in place for over 30 years.

In 1996 Alliance built and moved into a 235,000 sq. ft. facility on 56 acres. The plant was designed with a “two-of-everything” approach to limit manufacturing downtime/delays due to one automatic welding, sheet or purlin line becoming inoperable. If these events occurred, none would prevent orders from being filled on schedule—even if doing so required working the other line around the clock.

Our company attitude is one of continuous improvement, and we are happy to be able to say that our customers have responded positively. Their support brought about expansion, which in turn created the need for more manufacturing capacity. As of 2010, our shop and office space exceeds 364,700 sq. ft. What went into the new space, however, is the real story. For example, in 2003 we installed sophisticated computer-driven plasma cutting lines and material handling systems for our welding shop, and in October 2004 our engineering, drafting and detailing departments moved into a new 30,000 sq. ft. office with state-of-the-art electronic connectivity. In September 2004 we inaugurated a 50,000 sq. ft. shop to house our new Alliance Structural division to fabricate Class-A structures. In an industry in which many production facilities resemble nothing so much as the blacksmith shops of yesteryear, the Alliance Structural facility uses only top-of-the-line computer-driven equipment into which design configurations are downloaded to the production machinery directly from drafting. In 2009, ASI added an additional 90,000 sq ft. architectural panel and standing seam manufacturing building. Currently, ASI has over eight (8.34) acres under roof manufacturing capabilities with plans to continue to build as our customers and business require expansion.

Alliance Steel is—and will continue to be—on the leading edge of the metal building industry. We are committed to do whatever neccessary to be the best of the best. Such as: only having third party independently certified welders working in our welding shops, implementing quality control teams throughout our manufacturing process to assure the parts are correct the first time, state of the art computer controlled Jorns double bend folding trim machines and utilizing the highest quality subtrates/paint systems in the industry. ASI is a long-time member of the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) and recently received International Accredition Service certification under the very stringent IAS AC472 guidlelines. Both AS24 and Alok16 standing seam roof systems are certified 1-90 by Factory Mutual (FM) including UL-90 Underwriters Laboratories Inc (UL) approvals along with FM 4471 approval for severe hail (SH) and FM fire rated. The Alok16 panels have been independently tested and certified to meet FM 4471 values to achieve an 1-165 FM listing. ASI through fastened panels are UL 580 class 90 rated carrying a UL2218 Class 4 impact resistance and UL 790 Class A fire rating.

The expansion of our production facility is only the outward evidence of the accumulated experience and expertise at Alliance. Without talented and dedicated people to make it work, even the best facility in the world would be little more than a warehouse. We have the most advanced production facility in the industry, but it is the Alliance team that makes it work for you. The core management team has spent the majority of their adult lives making Alliance Steel what it is. All of our experience and resources are dedicated to serving you with courteous, prompt attention and to providing you the highest quality products at the best possible prices. Many of our customers have been dealing with Alliance so long that they hardly remember any other supplier. We invite you to find out why!
